Fisherman's Log:

I ran against the tide almost two hours in the morning going only 3 knots. Painful decision to make but it paid off in the end. Fished until 10pm and headed in after a long day.

The "middle rip" is the no-man's-land of Cook Inlet. As a tidal rip, it creates whirlpools, stacking waves and is often full of debris -- but that also means it's full of sockeye!
